As nThrive approaches its first birthday, having announced a new corporate brand in June 2016 following the merger of MedAssets and Precyse, we’ve grown both in scope and reach. Our comprehensive Patient-to-Payment℠ offerings have been enhanced through strategic acquisitions that include Equation, Adreima and, most recently, e4e. Now approximately 6,000 colleagues strong, our resources are located throughout the U.S. and abroad, serving more than 5,000 clients on every facet of the health care revenue cycle.

Each of our acquisitions brings a rich history to nThrive, with demonstrated capabilities that collectively make our organization stronger. Here’s a snapshot of the history and value we’ve gained, creating one nThrive that is stronger, thanks to the sum of our capabilities and expertise.

nThrive acquired Equation in June 2016 to deliver the power and insight of health care analytics to our clients. Our analytics help providers make sense of their data to arrive at answers for key challenges in a shorter amount of time. Liberating traditionally hard-to-access data puts the right information – at the right time – into the right hands, for fact-based decision-making that delivers better business results. Equation Health got its start in 2006, establishing headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, with a satellite office in San Diego, Calif. Equation combines decades of health care analytics consulting expertise together with proprietary algorithms and methodologies to offer data analytics solutions that help health care providers nationwide identify and assess weak areas and rejuvenate productivity, control costs and increase revenue.

Equation’s cloud-based health care analytics platform, DataRiver, has recently been rebranded nThrive Analytics, magnifying its crucial role in nThrive’s mission to empower health care for every one in every community, transforming financial and operational performance. The nThrive health care analytics platform provides clients with the flexibility to choose from solutions that are optimized for physician and hospital applications, as well as value-based care and revenue cycle operations. Clients can view data on high-level dashboards or conduct deeper Excel or SQL analysis to gain the information they need.

nThrive acquired Adreima in December 2016 to enhance its Patient Access Solutions. Founded in 1990, Adreima is headquartered in Downers Grove, Ill., with offices in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Nevada, New Jersey and North Carolina.  At its core, Adreima centers around the patient, with strong clinical revenue cycle expertise as a differentiator. The company began as an Arizona-based Medicaid eligibility and payer clinical services revenue cycle company. Patient responsibility services were launched in Illinois and North Carolina and eventually combined with the eligibility/clinical services to create a business with national reach and end-to-end breadth.

Further expansion has given Adreima a true nationwide footprint, with clients in 43 states. Recently, Adreima added personalized Patient Advocacy services to its growing portfolio of Patient Access, Clinical/Payer and Patient Responsibility offerings to create a comprehensive suite of services, becoming a full partner with health systems in supporting their complete revenue cycle.

The newest member of the nThrive family, e4e Healthcare Services was acquired in March. Based in the U.S. and India, e4e focuses on solutions in the physician services space and is an important part of nThrive’s Patient-to-Payment vision, leveraging physician billing and coding solutions as a key component in our nThrive Ambulatory offerings. With e4e, nThrive expands its service capabilities to a ‘follow the sun’ model, increasing our responsiveness and ensuring we have the bench strength to serve our clients effectively.

Reflecting on growth

CEO Joel Hackney is quick to note that nThrive’s rapid expansion over the past year through strategic acquisitions isn’t “just because bigger is better.” Rather, it enables nThrive to “bring more value to clients.”

Hackney emphasized that “just over a year ago, nThrive didn’t exist in its current form,” and now, thanks to growth, “nThrive is the largest independent, Patient-to-Payment, revenue cycle company in the industry.”
