Dear Reader –

Welcome to the latest edition of The nQuirer. In typical nThrive fashion, this issue includes a selection of revenue cycle and health information management-based blogs, videos and articles that highlight not only important health care industry trends and recent events, but also underline the unique offerings we provide for health care organizations like yours.

I’d like to start by taking this opportunity to congratulate our own Bernard Gay, Chief Information Officer at nThrive, who recently received the Georgia Enterprise CIO of the Year® ORBIE® Award. Bernard is a true asset to the nThrive enterprise, and we are proud to celebrate this unique recognition alongside him.

In October, attendees convened in Chicago, IL for Becker’s Hospital Review’s 5th Annual IT and Revenue Cycle Conference. Jennifer Nicholson, HP2 Program Manager at Northeast Georgia Health System; Dr. Carl Couch and Moshe Starkman, Senior Director, Value-Based Reimbursements at nThrive presented on a topic entitled, “Population Health Through Value-Guided Care.” The informative session discussed how population health programs can flatten costs and achieve value in multiple contracts, and I encourage you to discover more insights into the topic as discussed by this panel of experts.

Also in October, nThrive participated in the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) annual meeting in New Orleans, LA. The event featured health care educational sessions and networking opportunities for attendees to learn about the challenges associated with physician practice management. While at MGMA, the nThrive onsite team focused on promoting our Physician Enterprise Analyzer solution, which enables users to identify performance gaps and take action to correct costly issues.

Next, I turn your attention to a blog emphasizing the value of nThrive health information technology solutions such as CarePricer and CarePricer Payment Estimator as we navigate the latest price transparency legislation. Although price transparency rulings are delayed, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is expected to release a proposal that hospitals disclose payor-specific negotiated rates at the end of the year. Creating accurate patient estimates is key to a solid price transparency platform at your health care organization. Written by nThrive Senior Director of Product Management Jit Sivalogan, the blog explores the increasing importance of self-service estimating technology. Learn more about how the latest developments are putting easy and accurate patient estimating at the forefront of the current discussion.

In this issue, we also share a case study on how nThrive partnered with a Southeastern Health System that was struggling with an immense accounts receivable backlog for accounts aged over 90 days. The provider looked to nThrive for support in attacking the backlog and consequently liquidated $13.9 million in cash and resolved 48.9% of its old accounts. Check out this video to learn more about this exceptional nThrive success story.

On a final note, I remind you that nThrive Education is at your fingertips, with Certification and Badge programs that boost colleague skills and facilitate functional career development.
