Dear Reader –

Allow me to take a moment to wish you and your families my best during these unprecedented times. Please also accept our deep appreciation for all that our nation's health care organizations are doing to combat the pandemic. nThrive is closely monitoring all developments related to COVID-19 and I can assure you that we are committed to keeping your hospital or health care organization informed on our actions as new circumstances unfold.

To that end, our health information management experts recently launched a COVID-19 Coronavirus portal that is easily accessible via the homepage of the nThrive website. The portal offers a variety of helpful health care resources to help hospitals and health care organizations stay abreast of critical updates, as well as education that can help alleviate operational, staffing, or revenue cycle disruptions. On April 9, nThrive hosted the first webinar in our newly launched series, "Keeping up with COVID-19." Facilitated by nThrive Senior Manager of Advisory Services Virginia Gleason, the timely webinar was titled, "Revenue Enhancement Through Patient Care Improvement During and After the Public Health Emergency." The session focused on leveraging telehealth both now and in the months to come, and discussed how remote patient monitoring processes can be a financial benefit to health care providers while maintaining the current social distancing and stay-at-home protocols. Switching gears, I turn your attention to a demo of nThrive CarePricer Payment Estimator, presented by nThrive Director of Revenue Cycle Solutions Jacquie Czitrom. With the recent price transparency ruling by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), which goes into effect on January 1, 2021, many of our clients want to know how they can stay ahead of the curve and best position their hospital or health care organization for revenue cycle success while being compliant. The demo covers online patient estimating using nThrive CarePricer Payment Estimator technology, demonstrating firsthand how it helps organizations not only exceed price transparency requirements but also improve point-of-service collections, bolster revenue cycle best practices, and more.

In this issue, we've also included a blog entitled, "Understanding Physician Activity & Referral Patterns to Provide Quality Care." Physician referrals are a crucial component of the modern-day health care organization. As facilities move towards value-based care, achieving the anticipated outcomes and ensuring volume and revenue streams becomes a greater balancing act. With this in mind, it's increasingly important to build a robust physician referral strategy to solidify your medical organization's revenue cycle health and overall bottom line. Finally, let's explore an nThrive success story featuring a top urban medical center. The client partnered with us in the hopes of decreasing their denials rate through an improved clinical documentation program. As a result of the partnership with nThrive, this health care facility optimized their revenue cycle significantly, nearly tripling their number of collections and payments over a six-month period. In the end, they were able to realize an increase from 39% to 44% in collection dollars. To read more on this story, click here.

As always, I encourage you to reach out to us at with any questions or concerns, especially in light of the COVID-19 crisis. nThrive remains your trusted health information technology partner as we strive to weather the storm, helping your medical organization effectively adapt to these dynamic and challenging times.
