Dear Reader —

Welcome to another issue of The nQuirer, focusing on your efforts to provide excellence in health care delivery. This edition features topical information related to health care industry best practices as well as revenue cycle management educational resources to help your hospital or health care organization prepare for the future.

I begin by referencing a couple of webinars from our recent "Keeping Up with COVID-19" series. In July, nThrive Vice President of Product Management Education Beth Ottinger facilitated a session entitled, "Leveraging Education as a Key Strategy of a Solid Business Continuity Plan." Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, hospitals and health care organizations have had to reprioritize resources and adjust roles of staff members to handle unprecedented challenges across the continuum of care. In this article, we recap several strategies to develop education plans to cross-train employees in various capacities when unforeseen circumstances compel health care organizations to shift employees across departments.

Another July webinar was hosted by nThrive Senior Manager of Advisory Services Virginia Gleason, who spoke on, "Re-opening Health Care During the Public Health Emergency." As COVID-19 remains a fixture in the current health care landscape, hospitals need to identify ways of treating infectious patients while also continuing to provide patient solutions throughout communities. Virginia explored some of the key measures that can be implemented as part of responsibly reopening non-emergent health care services even as the Coronavirus pandemic persists. In early August, we pivoted from our traditional format to host a live interactive discussion with medical clients on the hot topic of Price Transparency in health care. nThrive vice president of Advisory Services Kyle Sherseth facilitated the session, "Time is of the Essence to Meet 2021 Price Transparency Mandates." With new federal regulations going into effect in 2021, hospitals and health care organizations across the country have just a few months to prepare for compliance. Throughout the session, Kyle fielded direct queries from the audience, offering critical information on the impending Price Transparency requirements. To round out this issue of the The nQuirer, we also offer a useful checklist featuring nine effective strategies to help your hospital or medical organization reduce underpayments. Today’s providers routinely face revenue loss and subsequently look to identify immediate cash acceleration opportunities to enhance the health of the overall revenue cycle. Nearly half of the average health care organization’s payment discrepancies are due to underpayments. Our checklist will directly address how you can reduce underpayments and improve revenue recovery to positively impact your bottom line going forward. Click here to learn more.
